Instead, we're all going to attend the LIFE WITHOUT LIMBS event at Ventura High School. Nick Vujicic started Life Without Limbs and will be speaking at Ventura High School from 6-8 p.m. this Sunday, July 31st.
This is an outreach event, so invite anyone you know that does not know the Lord. I have heard Nick speak before and it was refreshing and encouraging for me and certainly something worthwhile for anyone who is not yet a Christian.
If you have an questions, shoot me an email or if you want to check out Nick's ministry click on this link: http://www.lifewithoutlimbs.org/.

COLLEGE GROUP POOL PARTY
A pool party? I thought that was only for middle schoolers.
Nope...in fact, we're having our very first and very own college group pool party this Friday, July 29th from 5:30-7:30 at the Sponseller's house. Check the calendar or email for the address.
We'll have food...I heard Jeff cooks some really good food on the BBQ. And dessert...I think I have some leftover supplies for smores. And we'll swim. It should be a lot of fun.
Once again, this Friday, July 29th from 5:30-7:30...pool party...Sponseller's. Be there!
Don't forget to bring your own flotation device.

COLLEGE GROUP: Sunday, July 24th
We have another college group meeting coming up this Sunday, July 24th from 6-8 p.m. It will be at the Dilbeck's house again this week. (Check the calendar for the address.) The plan is to continue what we've been doing the whole summer...dinner at 6 o'clock and Bible study at 7. We might try and throw in a little Scattergories too.
Dinner is undecided as of right now, but no doubt it will be delicious and worth coming to eat. But more importantly we'll be studying 1 Thessalonians 3:6-13 where Paul shares of his joy from Timothy's good report about the Thessalonians faith. Last Sunday we looked at why Paul was so concerned about the Thessalonians faith.
As always if you have any questions, send me an email and I'll get back to you asap. And just a heads up, next Sunday, July 31st we have college group, but we'll all be attending Life Without Limbs at Ventura High School. Nick Vujicic is the speaker and has an incredible story to share. Check out the website here: http://www.lifewithoutlimbs.org/

Bonfire Recap
Last night we had our first ever college group bonfire. For those of you that were there, I'm sure you're glad you showed up. For those of you who weren't there, make sure you're there next time. We had a lot of fun hanging out and enjoying the beautiful outdoors. Jake and Jenny's ranch is pretty awesome...especially when its dark, the moon is absent, and the stars are beautiful! It really was amazing to see the Milky Way and all the stars.
We had some pretty tasty s'mores and enjoyed some fresh homemade chips 'n salsa that Karrie brought. But the highlight of course was sitting around the fire and enjoying the little community that is forming within the college group students and staff. Anyways, another bonfire will hopefully happen again soon. Hope to see you all there!

COLLEGE GROUP: Sunday, July 17th
Another Sunday of college group is coming up! This Sunday we will be taking a break from the Cole/Phelps' house and will be meeting at the Dilbeck's house. (Email for address and directions!) In fact, we'll be at the Dilbeck's house the next two weeks. The plan for dinner is taco salad and it will be a make-your-own sort of thing. We'll provide all the components of course. We'll be there from 6-8 p.m. and will study 1 Thessalonians 2:17-3:5, so bring your Bible and be prepared to discuss God's Word together.
And another short announcement for this week: We have our first college group bonfire this coming Wednesday, July 20th. Jake and Jenny Dilbeck are letting us come out to their ranch and enjoy a big fire, lots of smores and a great time out at their place. We will be there from 8-11 p.m., so invite your friends and get the word out.

A Calendar......What?
This week I put together a calendar for the college group. It is up-to-date for the month of July and we'll soon have August nailed down. You should check it out. It will probably be updated pretty often, but the plan is to at least have the next month put together. You can click on the link on the sidebar underneath "Links".

COLLEGE GROUP: Sunday, July 10th
Mmm…spaghetti. This past Sunday we had another fantastic dinner at the Cole/Phelps’ home. Karrie put together her homemade spaghetti sauce and we enjoyed some leftover homemade cupcakes for dessert. (They were soooo good. I wonder what they are like fresh?)
This coming Sunday, July 10th, the college group get together will be at the same time (6-8 p.m.) and at the same house (Cole/Phelps’). I do not know what is on the food menu, but I’m sure it will be delicious. Ron will be teaching through another section of 1 Thessalonians, 1 Thessalonians 2:9-16 to be exact. So come prepared for some good food followed by an in-depth study of God’s Word. Bring your Bible of course and if you get a chance maybe even read the passage beforehand.
If you have any questions, ideas, or comments feel free to send me an email at: collegegroup.cbc@gmail.com. I promise to get back to you as quickly as possible.
